Femonationalism

Femonationalism refers to the instrumental appropriation of feminist discourse by nationalist, xenophobic, or far-right movements. This strategy uses the apparent defense of women’s rights as a justification to promote exclusionary and controlling policies, especially targeting migrants or people from Muslim-majority countries. In this way, feminism is denaturalized and becomes a tool to reinforce racist, cultural, and religious prejudices, while portraying Western societies as inherently more egalitarian and civilized.
